Was Robert Collins an orphan?

If Robert Collins came to Halifax as a young child, it seems very possible that, as little is known of his parents, he was orphaned at an early age.

The "Robert Collings" whose name appears at the head of "A List of Persons Victual'd at the Hospital at Halifax Between the 30th October and the 24th December 1752" (PANS: MG 4, Vol. 83, p. 106) and at the head of two subsequent hospital lists may be the later lord of Colin Grove, who at this time would be about eight years of age-his young years, it could be argued, the reason for his name being atop the lists.
