It would appear that the phrase "at Mount Edward" is meant to distinguish this Mrs. Allen from the person regularly referred to as Mrs. Allen, i.e., Mrs. John Allen.

Mrs. Allen "at Mount Edward" would be Rebecca (Coleman) Allen,

wife of William Allen (see S17n3 ), they being the only Allens in the area with a son by the name of William--mentioned in this entry as escorting the girls home.

Unless "Mount Edward" is meant to indicate a geographical area rather than the estate, it would seem that the William Allens are living at Mount Edward and running that estate for the young widow Joanna Brinley--who is William Allen's niece. It seems that Joanna Brinley is living there as well (see Al7n2 and O31n1 ).
