Akins. M. 31 Oct. 1799 to Margaret Catherine Ott Beamish (b. ca.1774, d.
11 Feb. 1809), dau. of Thomas Beamish Sr. and Amelia (Mason) Beamish and
sister of Thomas Ott Beamish (see under O8n4 ).
The only child of Thomas and Margaret Akins is Thomas Beamish Akins.
"Thomas Beamish Akins, barrister-at-law, author of a History
of Halifax City, the pioneer Archivist of Nova Scotia, and a founding member
of the Nova Scotia Historical Society in 1878, being its president for
1862-1883, b. 1 Feb. 1809 at Liverpool, N.S., d. 6 May 1891 at Halifax,
